Some mosquitoes in Massachusetts may carry eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus or West Nile virus (WNV).  The risk to humans can vary from town to town and by season.  Outbreaks may be worse in some years than in others.  Your local board of health is a good source of information.  More information is available from the Massachusetts Board of Health.
