The Attleboro Land Trust invites residents to volunteer at a Clean-Up to be held on Saturday, May 2, at the Richardson Nature Preserve, 577B Wilmarth Street, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Maintenance tasks will include:
- Weeding perennial plants in Deborah’s Garden
- Spreading wood chips on portions of the Wyman Trail
- Cleaning trailside interpretive signs
- Trimming vegetation
-
Picking up fallen branches
We have many tools you can use, but if you have your own, please bring a few with you, such as:
- Standard rakes and leaf rakes
- Loppers, pruning shears, pruning saws, and other pruning tools
- Shovels
- String trimmers, weed whackers
- Gardening tools
If you have a wheelbarrow, or a vehicle with a trailer, that would be helpful for transporting wood chips from a pile on the Preserve to a low spot on the trail.
If you would be willing to pick up some finished compost from the City’s compost center during the week, and bring it to the Clean-Up for spreading as mulch on Deborah’s Garden, that would be great! Please let us know by contacting us via email at attleborolandtrust@gmail.com.
Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Please bring your own:
- Work gloves
- Water
Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Any cancellations due to weather will be posted at attleborolandtrust.org.
If you know anyone else who might be interested in volunteering, please spread the word!
