Last Saturday, the rain held off until noon, and we had a very successful clean-up at the Richardson Preserve. However, there is more to do!
We will have another Clean-Up at the Richardson Preserve this Saturday May 9, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The address is 577B Wilmarth Street, Attleboro. Again, there is a chance of rain, but we will be there!
The weeding and mulching of the perennials in Deborah’s Garden is more than halfway done, but we do need help finishing that.
Other maintenance tasks will include:
- Cleaning trailside interpretive signs
- Trimming vegetation
- Picking up fallen branches
- Removing moss and mildew from the outside of the Barrows House and the garage
We have many tools you can use, but if you have your own, please bring a few with you, such as:
- Standard rakes and leaf rakes
- Loppers, pruning shears, pruning saws, and other pruning tools
- Shovels
- String trimmers, weed whackers
- Gardening tools
- Wheelbarrow
Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Please bring your own:
- Work gloves
- Water
Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Any cancellations in the event of severe weather will be posted here.
If you know anyone else who might be interested in volunteering, please spread the word!
