Volunteers are needed to help repair the boardwalks at the Nickerson Walking Woods Preserve. We would like to put together a crew to continue this work on Tuesday, April 22, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. (Which happens to be Earth Day!)
The task is to selectively replace individual deck boards that are showing signs of wood rot. If you have basic carpentry skills, that is a plus, but we also need help in carrying the lumber to the locations where it is needed and clearing around the work areas.

Tools needed may include:
— Pry bar or crowbar
— Hammer
— Cordless drill or screw gun
— Street broom
— Whisk broom
— Standard rakes and leaf rakes
— Pruning tools
— Chain saw
We will have some tools, but please bring what you have.
Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Please bring your own:
— Work gloves
— Water
Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
